Earlier this week, Minnesota’s public libraries hosted Dr. Artika Tyner, Minnesota Author Project Communities Create 2020 winner, in conversation with Stacey Hendren, librarian from Anoka County Library and 2021 Minnesota Library Association President.
Dr. Tyner is the author of Justice Makes a Difference: The Story of Miss Freedom Fighter, Esquire. She is also the founder of Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute (PPGJLI). PGJLI seeks to plant seeds of social change through education, training, and community outreach. They address the challenges of promoting literacy and increasing diversity in children’s books.
MN Writes MN Reads is a program of the Council of Regional Public Library System Administrators. This author event is funded by Minnesota’s Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.
